Genius lies in Simplicity

I want to share a short yet powerful story of two zen monks, which I just read in Linda Breen Pierce’s book on “Choosing Simplicity”.
Two novice Zen monks are arguing about whose master is more evolved and accomplished. So the first monk boasts, “My master is so powerful, he can stand on one side of the river and write his name in the mud on the opposite side”. “That’s nothing” said the other one. “When my master is hungry, he eats and when he is tired he sleeps”.
Modern life, with all its overload has become so stressful and cluttered that people have stopped enjoying it and those who have figured out how to stop hurting themselves, are being classified as genius.
