Yes, the MBTI is supposed to have its results interpreted by a certified practitioner. But if you are a fairly intelligent person who doesn’t mind reading (potentially) 16 type descriptions, you’ll get pretty accurate results without paying. I think the reason you talk to a practitioner is just to have a reality check, and to explain any details revealed that might trouble you.

Take a few of the free online tests (one of the ones above – I tried the “Similarminds” one, the Kiersey Sorter, and maybe one you find on Bing) and see if you get similar results.

I’ve tested ENTP consistently since I was 8 (that was the only time I took the “real” test), and am now in my 40s.

The real MBTI is valid and reliable. It needs to be supervised, validated and explained by a certified MBTI practitioner. There is NO free Myers Briggs test. Period. They are all knockoffs and thus unreliable. Go to Capt.org for the best results and interesting articles on type. I am a certified MBTI practitioner of 12+ years. This assessment is used for leadership, management development, counseling, career development by universities, the military, 90% of Fortune 100 companies, religious organizations, psychologists, etc. It is in over 30 languages and considered the most valid and reliable of any self report personality assessment tool. I did Myers-Briggs test and know I am ESFJ type and I did this one now (link above), which is free online and not real Myers-Briggs and result was the SAME. Basically, you can find explanation on your type anywhere online.
